The Participants Analysis that is meant here is to list the project members that will be of importance while executing the engagement. For each participant the subject matter area, responsibilities, role and connection to the engagement are captured.

As roles, responsibilities and progressive insight influence the relations that participants have to the engagement, the participants analysis is an ongoing activity during the entire engagement.
